225,000M² of vacant land could become the biggest asset to the suburbs east of Melbourne. This linear strip of land is due to be split into 3 sections running below the $1.6 billion Sky Rail. The vacant land created has the potential to become an opportunity of identity and activation for the communities it passes through. It is our mission to facilitate the needs and desires of these communities and the eventual development. With proposal for the main intersections and train stations already put forward, it is the left over land between that we are interested in, and it is the local communities that we want to inhabit it. We have approached over 1200 local community groups as well as local residents to tell us what they want and how they could occupy the space left under. The responses will lead to informing a discussion around new community driven proposals for the sites. We aim to take these responses to the various stakeholders involved. Giving the communities a voice to their eventual character.
